Deck Guide: Loffee’s Take on BizBunk – The Best Deck in the Game?
Decklist:

Loffee BizBunk

Welcome back, everyone! In this guide, we’re diving deep into one of the strongest—and most unique—decks in the current meta: BizBunk. At the end of Season Zero, four of the top eight players used this deck to close out their runs. It's that good.
Unlike the usual aggressive or midrange decks, BizBunk is a pure combo deck, built around assembling and executing a win condition centered on Bizmo, PhD Candidate. We’ll break down how the deck functions, go over the core and tech cards, walk through budget substitutions, and dive into mulligans, gameplay strategy, and how to beat it.
Core Strategy: Combo to Win
At its heart, this deck revolves around Bizmo, PhD Candidate, which says:
“When this penguin enters the huddle, if you have no cards in your deck, you win the game.”
The entire game plan is to ice your entire deck, get Bizmo, PhD Candidate in your hand, and play it to win.
To achieve that, the deck uses two main icing engines:
Ascending Penguin
: Ices cards based on the vibe of penguins entering the huddle.
Penguin Who's OK
: Ices a card from the deck every time you draw a card—turning cheap draw into massive icing.
You usually don’t need both engines to win. Two or three total copies of your engine pieces will suffice in most games.
Key Synergy Cards
Support for Ascending Penguin
Bashful Swordsman Penguin
: Huge vibe-to-cost ratio (14 vibe for 3 fish). Ices 7 cards with one Ascending Penguin
or 14 with two. Also great for winning vibe checks.
Penguin Who Breaks the Fourth Wall
: Playable from ice, and a solid 9 vibe for 2 fish. Ices 5 cards when used with Ascending Penguin
. Only two copies are needed since it often ends up in your ice naturally.
Bunkus, Who Is the Stars
: The critical combo piece. Playable from ice by cycling cards back into your deck. Its vibe scales with how many penguins are in your ice, making it an incredibly efficient way to both build and ice your deck. Essential for the finishing combo and even a potential alt-win path.
Support for Penguin Who's OK
Study All Night
: Draws two cards, ices two from your hand—turns into icing four with Penguin Who's OK
.
Brainy Penguin
: Same effect as Study All Night
, but on a penguin body. Also helps generate purple pudge.
Overwhelm With Knowledge
: A one-cost cantrip that becomes free if played from ice by icing a rod. Especially good with Penguin Who's OK
on board.
Deck Accelerators
Wut?
: When iced, ices another card from your deck. Helps speed up the icing process, effectively shrinking your deck by ~8%. Also resets the timer on long combo turns, which is crucial.
Purple Mega Penguin
: Lets you fetch a specific card from your ice. Great for assembling the exact combo pieces you need. Only two copies due to its 5-fish cost.
Tech Cards
Got 'Em!
: Removal is vital, especially in the mirror or against yellow. Deals with enemy Penguin Who's OK
, Ascending Penguin
, or Popcorn Penguin
, which can shut down your combo engines.
Not a Rod Anymore!
: Saves your key penguins from removal. Counters Got 'Em!
, and helps ensure your combo pieces survive. Considered essential by many.
Adventure Squad
: Your only answer to Miss Place, Forgetter of Things
, which can shut down your entire combo by locking out Bizmo, PhD Candidate
or Bunkus, Who Is the Stars
.
Popcorn Penguin
: Very effective in the mirror and against yellow. Worth running two copies, possibly more in a yellow-heavy meta.
Other optional tech cards:
Inspiring Story
: Extra protection against Got 'Em!
and Popcorn Penguin
.
Have a Philosophical Debate
: Can remove Popcorn Penguin
or retrieve combo pieces from the ice—though the downside is putting cards back into your deck.
What a Twist!
: Strong against green control and specific threats like EveryonesDayClam
.
Budget Substitutions
BizBunk is a rare- and epic-heavy deck, but a few things can be trimmed if needed:
Bashful Swordsman Penguin
→ Unmasked Penguin
(not great, but passable)
Run more Study All Night
if cutting Brainy Penguin
Purple Mega Penguin
can be cut entirely if needed
You can get by with fewer copies of Bunkus, Who Is the Stars
or Wut?
, but it’ll impact consistency
Overall, it’s hard to play this deck at a high level without the full toolkit.
Mulligan Guide
One of the easiest mulligan decisions in the game: hard mulligan for your engines.
Keep:
Penguin Who's OK
Ascending Penguin
Brainy Penguin
(great early synergy with Penguin Who's OK
)
Maybe keep:
Not a Rod Anymore!
(only if you already have two engine cards)
Throw everything else back. You need your engines early to start icing ASAP. Removal can wait.
Gameplan & Combo Execution
Early Game: Play your engine cards. Start cycling and icing your deck.
Mid Game: Set up 25–29 cards in your ice. Get Bizmo, PhD Candidate
and Ascending Penguin
in hand, and make sure you have 5–6 rods on the board.
Final Combo Turn:
Play Ascending Penguin
.
Play Bunkus, Who Is the Stars
from your ice, cycling back 12 cards.
Ascending Penguin
ices based on Bunkus’ vibe—ideally 15+.
Repeat if necessary until your deck is empty.
Play Bizmo, PhD Candidate
and win!
Important: Select Wut? first when cycling to reset the timer. With four Wut?
s in your list, you can comfortably combo from ~27–29 cards in your ice. Fewer than that is risky but possible.
Alternate Win Conditions
Quad Bunkus Beatdown: Occasionally you’ll win just by flooding the board with four huge Bunkus, Who Is the Stars
.
Deck Out Opponent: Rarely, you can ice your opponent out with Penguin Who's OK
+ draw.
Vibe Check Swing: Cards like Bashful Swordsman Penguin
can steal a game in a pinch.
Countering BizBunk
Two major threats:
Miss Place, Forgetter of Things
: Prevents Bizmo, PhD Candidate
or Bunkus, Who Is the Stars
from being played. Always keep your Adventure Squad
ready.
SilentSnowglobe
: Shuts down abilities, making your engines useless. If this hits, your best path is usually jamming Bashful Swordsman Penguin
and hoping to win by brute force.
Conclusion
BizBunk is arguably the best deck in the current meta, but it’s also one of the trickiest. You need to manage your resources, think ahead during your combo turns, and practice the execution to avoid timing out.
Whether you’re going all-in on the main combo or adapting your tech for specific matchups, this deck rewards precision and planning—and when it goes off, nothing feels better.
See you in the huddle!
