Introduction

Welcome to the Vibes TCG Yellow Starter Deck Guide! When you complete the tutorial in Vibes, you are awarded either the Yellow Starter Deck or the Green Starter Deck. If you've been given the Yellow Starter Deck and are unsure how to use it effectively, this guide will walk you through the deck’s mechanics, core strategies, and how to maximize its combos to secure victory.

Core Strategy

The Yellow Starter Deck functions similarly to a combo deck, meaning you want to chain specific cards together to build up an unstoppable board presence. Your key objective is to play multiple penguins in succession to buff your penguins and maintain control of the Vibe Check.

One of your main combo engines is Extrovert PenguinCard preview:

  • Cost: 4 Fish

  • Effect: "Whenever another penguin enters your huddle, put 2 Vibe counters on this penguin."

  • Strategy: This penguin continuously gains Vibes every time another penguin enters the huddle. This ability has no limit, meaning the more penguins you play, the stronger it becomes.

To maximize Extrovert PenguinCard preview, you’ll want to combine it with low-cost penguins, such as:

  • Flying PenguinCard preview (Cost: 1 Fish)

  • Inquisitive PenguinCard preview (Cost: 0 Fish)

  • Penguin Who ZoomsCard preview (Cost: 1 Fish, returns a penguin to your hand upon play)

Each of these penguins can trigger Extrovert PenguinCard preview’s ability, significantly boosting its Vibes.

Key Cards

Penguin Who Might Bring a Plus OneCard preview

  • Can generate additional penguin spawns to accelerate your combos.

Penguin Who's Late to the PartyCard preview

  • A low-cost penguin with the potential to become an 8-Vibe powerhouse.

Not Your KeysCard preview

  • Cost: 4 Pudge

  • Effect: Choose an opponent's penguin and send it to the Ice.

  • Strategy: Your deck is vulnerable to large threats, and Not Your KeysCard preview is one of the few removal options available. Use it strategically to eliminate game-winning penguins on your opponent’s board.

Check the Yellow PagesCard preview

  • Effect: Draw the top three cards of your deck, keeping any yellow penguins revealed.

  • Strategy: Helps cycle through your deck to find essential combo pieces.

Put Your Flippers in the AirCard preview

  • Effect: Grants a penguin a massive Vibe boost.

  • Strategy: This is an excellent finisher for securing the final Vibe Check and claiming the Baron.

Gameplay Breakdown

Early Game

  • Play Flying PenguinCard preview or Inquisitive PenguinCard preview early to establish a presence.

  • Set up Extrovert PenguinCard preview as soon as possible.

  • Place rods consistently to ensure you have enough resources.

Mid-Game

  • Begin chaining penguin plays to buff Extrovert Penguin.

  • Use Penguin Who ZoomsCard preview to return and replay low-cost penguins for maximum buffs.

  • Use Check the Yellow PagesCard preview if you need to refill your hand.

Late Game

  • Play Put Your Flippers in the AirCard preview on a high-Vibe penguin for a game-ending push.

  • Use Not Your KeysCard preview to remove an opponent’s largest threat.

  • Maintain control of the Vibe Check to close out the game.

Game Example

In a recent match, we started slowly, while our opponent had a strong early start with Flying PenguinCard preview and quickly developed a large Extrovert Penguin. However, we managed to fight back using the following plays:

  1. Played Extrovert PenguinCard preview.

  2. Used Penguin Who ZoomsCard preview + Inquisitive PenguinCard preview to chain multiple penguins, boosting Extrovert Penguin.

  3. Played Check the Yellow PagesCard preview, drawing into Mysterious PenguinCard preview.

  4. Used Mysterious PenguinCard preview to flop their biggest penguin, stopping its impact.

  5. Secured victory with Put Your Flippers in the AirCard preview.

This match demonstrated the powerful synergies within the Yellow Starter Deck.

Conclusion

The Yellow Starter Deck is an aggressive, combo-driven deck that rewards efficient sequencing and smart resource management. If you enjoy building momentum, chaining penguin plays, and outpacing your opponent, this deck is an excellent choice!
